A BAZILLION Reasons to Attend Regional Rally!!!

If you could see me now, you'd think I'd had way too much sugar today. Actually, I did have way too much sugar today, and am headed soon for a glass of strawberry milk... just don't tell my mom. Anyway, I'm SUPER EXCITED and totally hyper about the recent announcement of REGIONAL RALLY!!! It's COMING!

Last year I posted this blurb about regional rally. You should read it. It's short and sweet. Go ahead, I'll wait.

...

Ya done? I know. It says it all. Premier is AWESOME. It's a great way to support your family, and YOU GET OUT OF IT WHAT YOU PUT INTO IT. That means if you're not getting the results you want, quit making excuses and figure out HOW to get them! January is the PERFECT time for a Rally.  It's the new year, when we make all of our new resolutions, like losing this pregnancy weight... or getting my business jump started in this new town! And Rally is ALWAYS, 100% of the time, inspirational, educational, and a STINKIN' BLAST!

There ARE a bazillion reasons to go to rally. I'm not going to list them all for you, but you should know: You WILL LOVE IT. You WILL be inspired. You WILL get new ideas. And you WILL get to see the brand new spring & summer lines AND order them with an ADDITIONAL 30% off!!! In addition, for the second year in a row, Premier is hosting rally in WAY more locations so that it's feasible for everyone to attend. PLUS, Rally is even CHEAPER this year than it was last year! So. Mark your calendar. November 1: Register for Regional Rally.

Using Labels Like Woah

If you haven't discovered Avery Labels yet, you're missing out. I use labels A. Lot. I have always gotten mine from Walmart but last time I went, they only had the "eco friendly" which are more expensive. I mean, I'm not saying I'd rather save money than save the environment... but... I like saving money. Anyway, here's what to look for:

And here are different ways I use them:

Labeling EVERYTHING with my contact information. I put these labels on the back of catalogs, customer receipts, hostess packets, style guides, mini catalogs, home show folders, sponsoring packets, opportunity brochures, and anything else that customers or hostesses may come in contact with! I just create a file and print as needed. Usually I change the font or colors because it's more fun that way. :)

Label Gifts. Anything that will go home with the girls also gets a label with my information on it. Here are some items that I've used in booking activities or gift with purchase.
Jewelry Cleaner
Chapstick (Was in a Summer Makeup Bag)
Keeping My Catalogs.
Often, people want to take my home show catalogs home with them. I've found that often when ladies feel guilty about not ordering, they'll say they want to take a catalog and order later. They NEVER DO. I've started putting these labels on and then covering the catalog with the clear catalog protector cover from PDI. Now that we have the online catalog, I can feel even less guilty for trying to avoid sending catalogs home with every guest!
Some hostesses are really great about returning every little item you give them, down to the tax cheat sheet. Others ask for nine different catalogs to give out and then never return them! I've started putting these label, along with a clear catalog protector, on my catalogs that I give to my hostesses for pre-orders. Then when I'm hostess coaching I point out that we recycle the catalogs, so please return them!

Labeling Jewelry
At Christmas time I have a "Treasure Box." After spending $75, ladies get to shop in the treasure box for discontinued, SALE jewelry. I calculate the total in advance and label the items like this:

Mass Mailings
When I send invitations to my renewal show, Christmas cards, or when I am using the post cards that Premier provides advertising promotions, I use my Hood & House program to print labels. It's easy peasy! If you don't know how to do this, here are the steps:

Step 1: Choose REPORTS on the left side of your screen.
Step 2: Under "Lists & Labels" choose Customers
Step 3: Select the names of the girls you would like labels for
Step 4: At the top of your screen, select LABELS
Step 5: Select your Parameters and hit "OK"
This is where you choose your font and size for each line
From here, you'll get your page of labels and be ready to print!

Hostess Coaching Cards
When I get a new hostess, I print five labels for her. I pull out my sheet of hostess labels once per week for mailings. Each hostess will eventually get 4 hostess coaching cards and then one thank you card. Printing these labels in advance saves me time and helps me track the mailings I've done for each girl.

Compliment Card
Print these labels and put them on the back of your business card. Then when someone compliments your jewelry in public, you can give them your card and "coupon" as a thank you!

Sometimes I also use shipping labels (6 per sheet). They look like this:
I only have a couple of uses for these so far.

Dropping Catalogs:
This is my favorite use of the labels. At Rally every year, you are allowed to pick up as many of the previous year's catalogs as you can load home with you! I like to take these home and then print these labels. The goal is to drop the catalogs off at local places of business with waiting rooms. Some ideas are: doctor's offices, dentists, salons, oil change places, the veterinarian, DMV, etc. Sometimes boutiques will take them too.
"Triple Treat" Booking Activity:
I saw this at a Rally. For this booking activity, you load a tray with hostess cakes tied with a bow. The girls get to pick a hostess cake and on the bottom it has one of these stickers. Each sticker has a different item they've won (charm bracelet, free shipping, extra tickets or Diva Dollars, etc)
And that's all I've got for now! I know there are other ways I've used them. I would love to hear feedback or your creative ideas for using labels!

Love you!
Denise

Training when there's no training!

I know training in WI was cancelled today. And even when it's not, it's a super long drive. And then there's work schedules, kid schedules, and all the other events of our crazy lives. Going to training is VERY important. It should be a TOP priority if you want your business to be successful. But in those (hopefully very rare) moments when going to training is just not happening, we don't want to fall off the awesome wagon! So, here are a few ways you can train from home that you may or may not have thought/known about:

  1. Go back to your jeweler handbook. Lots of ideas we see at trainings actually came from the jeweler handbooks! There are a ton of ways to change up your show games, great outlines for hostess coaching, and anything else you could possibly need!
  2. Re-watch the DVD and listen to the Audio CD. I kept the audio CD in my car forever. It has great tips for your business.
  3. Read old notes. If you haven't been to a lot of trainings, you won't have gathered too many notes so far. But think of all the times you've sat in a training or Rally and been so impressed with the ideas or so inspired by the encouragement! Go back to your notes and review some of those great teachings.
  4. Visit the Premier Designs website. There are a couple of different places here you can get great training: Jeweler Resources > Training > Online Training. Don't forget to hit the link at the bottom for "previously released training." OR! Visit Rally/Events & watch videos from previous rallies.
  5. Visit some of the Premier Leadership Websites. They have TONS of great ideas, trainings, and handouts.
  6. Visit the Terrell Website & get some info on the Jammies & Jewelry calls! These are phone training on Sunday nights! They're great and you can even call later and listen to the recordings.
  7. Get with friends and share ideas, get help with challenges, and play with jewelry combinations!
  8. This blog. Ya. This one... The one that I spend HOURS trying to log good ideas and encouragement for you!
  9. Google! Go on YouTube and search "Premier" or "Direct Sales". You'll have to filter through the good stuff, but you'll find some great ideas too! You may also just google "Direct Sales." You'll get some good articles and websites on tips!
Ok! Let me know what you find! Or if you have any other ideas. :) Hope this helps!

No excuses!

A few months ago, I posted this blog about making excuses and procrastinating. And it's easy to fall back into the same boat. Rally is coming up, and so is the new year! Premier is AWESOME! It's an awesome opportunity to make extra money to support your family. And, as they say at every rally and training, YOU GET OUT OF IT WHAT YOU PUT INTO IT. If you are not getting the results you want, are you REALLY giving the effort you should? YOU CAN DO THIS. But it means taking those baby steps to be disciplined and decide: I'm worth this. My family is worth this! And the best part is: Premier is NOT hard. The most difficult part is training YOURSELF to do the things you should!
So. GO TO RALLY! No excuses

PS. Registration is extended to January 2. AND! If you go, you get 30% off of the new line! It's worth spending the $48 on Rally JUST to get that discount!!

Fill Your Calendar for the Christmas Season!!

Hey Girls!
So I see a common trend - lots of people are struggling for shows right now. Well I wanted to encourage all of you with a few ideas you can use with resources you already have on hand! So. Here's what you're going to do.

1. MAKE A LIST. Check your phone, Facebook, your church directory, the people at work, your neighbors, your play date parents, past customers and hostesses, hostesses who have recently cancelled or rain checked... ANYONE you can think of!

2. PREPARE & STUDY YOUR SCRIPT. Vickie recently sent out some great verbiage. It's attached in the email I sent you, copied below, and you can also access it here. I plan on editing it to fit my personal situation and using it! Be sincere: tell people WHY you're in Premier. Are you paying off debt, supporting your family, trying to stay at home, just having fun? All of the above?

3. SET ASIDE TIME TO CALL, CALL, CALL! I know this can be intimidating. If you have to, promise yourself a reward. OR, put your goals/reasons for being in Premier right in front of you. Think about how much you would actually make if you did a couple shows per month. What would you spend that $400 on? Remind yourself: "This is so I can ___." Me personally? This is so I can pay off the rest of my student loans (I need another $25,000 this year) and be a stay at home mommy next year!!!

No matter what, make sure you mention the specials AND the new jewelry!

If you do those things, WITH CONFIDENCE, I promise you will come away with bookings. And you will be SO GRATEFUL you did!

Now, those are the basics. But here are some more INCREDIBLE tools that Premier has provided. Here are just a few ideas for using them (I recommend choosing 1 or 2 ideas, not all of them! :). Let me know if you have more!

The Post Cards

- Notice you can type right in them before you print them. Print them on card stock and use post card stamps - they're cheaper!

- Print a few to keep in your purse. Use them as a tool when someone compliments your jewelry.

- Send them to people on your list. Write on the back: "Hi ____, I am so excited about the upcoming Promotions! And Premier is releasing their Christmas line on SEPTEMBER 20! I knew you would want some of the new jewelry for free. Check out your calendar and I'll call you soon!"

- Check out your hostess from this time last year. Send them one and on the back write: "Hey ___, Since you had such a successful show last Christmas, and had so much fun getting FREE Christmas gifts, I knew you'd want to see the awesome promotions Premier has out right now. The new line will be released THIS WEEK, so check out your calendar and I'll call you soon!"

- Check out your hostess who have told you verbally they would have a show, or who have cancelled and said they'd reschedule. Write on the back, "____, I know you've been looking forward to your Premier show. When I saw this promotion I thought of you! I am SO excited Premier has such a great deal for hostesses this time of year. You are going to LOVE the new Christmas line and be sooo grateful that your show falls during gift season! Check out your calendar and I'll call you soon to schedule your date!"

- Put a post card in a picture frame at your upcoming shows.

- Print some and put them in your customer folders during shows.

- Post it (or the flyer) to your Facebook. I've already tagged you in mine.

- Blast it on your Twitter.

- Put a copy of a post card (or flyer) in your break room at work. Make sure you contact info is on it!

- Take a Christmas catalog & postcard with you into the bank, post office, etc.

The Invitations:

- Notice you can type directly on these too. And you only have to type it all once!

- Offer to send invites FOR you hostess. Tell her you'd LOVE to send 20 invites for her - she just needs to give you her guests contact info. (If YOU send them out, it's more likely to get done!)

- Put a couple blank ones in hostess packets so the hostess knows what to expect.

- Host an open house or mystery hostess show for your neighbors & use these as invites.

- Take a picture and send it to your hostess to use in email & Facebook. Remind them, of course, that it's important they make more personal contact as well!

Ok. That's all the ideas I have for now. If you have more, COMMENT BACK! Share the wealth! :)

Now remember: No matter what neat things Premier puts out, none of it will work if you don't GET ON THE PHONE! So make that list & let me know how it goes!! :)

Booking Boot Camp Verbiage:

Re-Starting Your Premier Business
Hi ___________ this is Kim, do you have a second?  I won’t keep you but a minute, but I am actually calling to ask you for a HUUUGE favor. (pause) I am re-starting my jewelry business (tell why) example… (Ray and I have experienced a minor financial setback and I really need to use my business to help out) Here is my favor…  I need 2 friends who could let me come over and set my jewelry out on their kitchen table and   invite a few friends over to play in jewelry.  It doesn’t have to be a big deal, just you and a few friends.  I can give you some jewelry just for helping me out…what do you think? ( If she says yes, continue with this)… Oh Wow, thank you so much __________!!  I really appreciate it.  Ok, the first 2 dates on my calendar I really need to fill are… Thursday August 4th and Friday August 5th.  Could you look at those dates and see if either would work for you?  Friday, great!! That is a great night to have some friends over!  (get the date penciled in…if she says she needs to “look” first and she doesn’t have her calendar in front of her, you ask if you can just pencil her in on one of those dates and when she gets a chance to look at her calendar she can call you back and if that doesn’t work you will glad ly work with her to find another one because you really appreciate her helping you)
If she say’s “no”.  You say this… “ Oh __________ that’s ok!  I totally understand!  There is another way you might be able to help me out though.  I am hosting a Mystery Hostess Show on ________________ and I would love it if you could maybe come and bring someone with you?  It would bring new contacts for my business and it would also increase your chances on winning the free jewelry because I give the most tickets for bringing guests and booking a show.  Could I send you an invitation?  What do you think? (if she says yes, get a good email address for her and let her know she will be getting that in the next couple of days…make sure you follow up with reminder calls…just  like a good hostess!)  If she says she can’t make that night you go to plan c…
“Oh I’m sad you can’t make it.(pause)  Listen, do you think I could just put a catalog in the mail to you?  I love referrals and if you just set it out and someone either wanted to order or get free jewelry I would give you 50% off any item anytime you refer someone to me.  Is that something you could do?”  “Great, I will get that out in a few days and again ______________ I really appreciate you helping me!” (confirm her address)
LEAVE A MESSAGE!!!!!!
If NO ONE ANSWERS--- Leave THIS message!!!  “Hi ______ it’s Kim Adams (do NOT say with Premier Designs!!) I was calling to ask you for a quick favor.  When you get a chance could you call me back at 996-0227?  It’s not a big deal…just a quick favor. Thanks!”
If you say “with Premier Designs” she KNOWS your favor!  Curiosity killed the cat, you will get more return calls than EVER before!  Don’t say “HUGE” favor because it may mislead them to think you are in some kind of trouble and will be frustrated when you are just asking for a show.  Their curiosity will get the best of them and when they call you back use the above script as normal.

Plan A- You book the show and set the date----seize the moment…you may not catch them again
Plan B- You are personally inviting them to your Mystery Hostess show and they are more likely to come because they feel bad they didn’t book a show, they can bring a friend and will know someone, and they can win the free jewelry!  If they come to the show you have a second chance to book them when they see the jewelry and if they bring a friend you have a new contact who may want to book.  If 5 people say No to a show but agree to come and bring a friend to your Mystery hostess, you will have 10 people attend!  Be ready to book more shows!  It’s NOT about the retail!!!!!
Plan C- If you send them a catalog,,, they may see that they really like the jewelry and change their mind about booking, or they may get up a catalog show or really refer someone.  Either way you are giving them options to help you out and it is not awkward when they won’t book a show and you just say thank you and hang up.

Regional Rally!

Hey girls! It's been a while since I've had a free minute to blog, but I wanted to make sure you had MARKED YOUR CALENDAR for regional rally! This year, regional rally will be SO MUCH MORE convenient than in the past. There will be a rally in both Chicago & St. Louis for you northern girls. For us down here, I plan to attend the Nashville event so we can be with Dave & Vickie and our other Premier Sistas! :) It's also only one day this year, as compared to two in the past. So PLAN TO BE THERE. Excuses or Results, ladies!

Brian and I are already registered. Registration deadline is June 15. That's ONE MONTH from today!!

Two years ago, they filled up & had a wait list, but that doesn't usually happen. Still, I would book sooner rather than later! :) Also, GUESTS are welcome! :)

Our.Premier.Men

My sweet hubby, Brian,
carrying the Gleason sign @ Rally.

Hey girls! This is important! We've got a men's only training coming up!

One of my favorite things about Premier is the involvement of the men. Since I signed with Premier, Brian has rapidly become more and more involved. He comes to rallies & trainings with me, has asked women to have shows for me, built cases & mannequins, and has even helped me stay [slightly] more disciplined with how I manage & spend my income.  The men tend to be more business savvy & aware of the potential.

Together, Premier has become OUR business. We are a team! Although I still am responsible for most of the inner/outer workings, and the shows, Brian also does a WHOLE LOT to help. It's so neat to have one more thing to share.

Now Premier! They do a TON equip the men to be involved. At rallies & roundups, they have special "manly" lunches & trainings for men only. :) How cute is that? I'm sure they appreciate a chance away from the onslaught of pumps and pearls and squealing girls!

Every once in a while, some one of the Premier leadership husbands offer a special phone-call training. These are usually on Sunday nights, and of course they're free! The boys just call in & type in the code & listen to the trainings! I HIGHLY RECOMMEND encouraging your men to get involved in these. Here's the info for the upcoming one:

Special Guest Speaker: BOB SPROUL
(Senior Leader)

This Sunday, May 6

@ 9 pm Eastern -- 8 pm Central
Joan is a 4 Diamond Designer (Senior Leader). Joan & Bob have been in Premier for an amazing 13 years. Bob is a pastor at Evangelical Free Church of Hershey, PA.

If.It's.To.Be...It's.Up.To.ME

At several trainings I've been to, I've heard the quote, "If it's to be, It's up to me." I like that because I need to hear it. Premier is a business that works only when you work it. If you want more income, YOU are responsible for generating it. If you want a raise, YOU are responsible for giving & getting it. There is nobody to tell you when or where or how often to work. The fact that we make our own schedules, and decide our own vacation time, is totally awesome. But with great privilege comes great responsibility. [You like my cliche quotes?].

In Premier, there are a million methods to setting your goals. I've seen cute goal boards, people with goal folders and notebooks, there are breakdowns in the new Premier calendar/agenda, a MILLION worksheets & organizers, and more. I personally recommend deciding & writing what you want for your business ($500/month to pay the bills, to become Designer within 6 months, to do Premier full time, etc), and break down the steps to see what you need to do to get there.

The exciting part is, there is ALWAYS a reward.

Brian and I have seen each one of our girls get excited about Premier, and we are very excited FOR you! AND NOW... there will be a prize! :) Brian & I have decided on a challenge for EACH of you! We have thought about what each of you need/want right now for your business, and have created an individual set of challenges for each of you. Brittany & Diana want to work on sponsoring. Krystle & Connie need to work on getting off to a strong start. Not only will you earn a prize if you take on our challenge, but you will also IMPROVE your business! We promise! But.. of course there will be a prize at the end! Each of you will be working toward... drum roll please... the Hood & House program!!!!

If you are unfamiliar with the Hood & House program, YOU NEED IT. It has been an absolute wonder. I just bought it last summer, and my business has become so much more organized & simplified! Hood House keeps track of everyone you meet, all of your expenses, your mileage, all of your sales, and SO SO SO much more. It is a MUST HAVE.... But it is a liiiiittle pricey!

Interested? If you would like to work on focusing your business... AND earning the Hood & House program... your first assignment is to set & share your goals. You can either comment on this post so everyone can see, OR you can email me at my personal email. Your goals can be in any form. You can make a list. Write a sentence or a paragraph, whatever. Do you have a specific income goal? A number of shows you would like to do per month? A number of months until you quit your other job(s)?

Our Goal
Of course, Brian & I have our own goal: I would like to be a Designer by the time we move next summer. This means 36 home shows in the next 12 months, and signing 3 more girls to our downline. That's about 3 shows per month, and 1 new girl every 4 months. I would also like to focus more on building relationships with my customers, hostesses, & Premier family. I don't have an income goal, but all of our Premier income will go toward paying down my student loan debt. We need an additional $20,000 to have them paid by our move.

When I have your goals, I will send you your challenge sheet. And you'll be on your way! To make it fair, the challenge will OFFICIALLY start on May 12!

Good luck!
Love,
Brian & Denise

Here's a peek at what your challenges will look like. The first is for Brittany & Diana, the second for Connie & Krystle...
