Testing.Testing.123

Well. I decided to try starting a blog for us. Becuase we have THREE jewelers now! Hehe. I know... we're rollin.

This is what happened: I've been in Premier for a year now, but definitely don't feel like I know it all. So I'm getting ready to train Shannon on Saturday and intended on sending an email out to all three girls asking Brittany & Chris to share a little bit about your beginnings as a jeweler... Then I got to thinking... this would be a good start to a blog! And then we can ALL share things that we accross or need advice on. Especially since we'll be training in FOUR different places!

If you subscribe, you can set it up for the blog to let you know anytime something new has been posted. Then instead of the "reply all" situation on email, you can just post to here! And on top of that, we'll have archives forever! :) PLUS. This is waaaaay cuter than email.

So... here's what I need to know from you first:

1. Any ideas for a better title? Haahha. I like cheesy. And I wanted something to do with jewelry or something, but catchy... We can change it as many times as we want. LoL.

2. B & C... can you tell us a little but about your beginnings as a jeweler? What training or ideas has helped a lot? What did you wish you knew? What has happened that you didn't expect (good or bad)? And so on...

3. Do you think this blog thing will work? :)

Here are my answers:

1. I don't have a better title. But I'll keep thinking. Or this one will grow on me. :)

2. Here are the most helpful things that I learned:

- STAY IN CONTACT (hense, the blog). Premier is like a family, seriously. And the more you stay in contact with your Premier family, the stronger you'll be as a jeweler!
- "Those that train, remain. Those that don't, won't." - when I started Premier, they told me this. And I PROMISE you, the girls who go to training regularly are doing FAR better in their business than those who DONT go to training. It's just how it works. AND from my own experience, in those months where I didn't go to training, I was MUCH worse than when I did train. [PS. Everyone plan on going to rally!!!]

Something that I wish someone would have hit me over the head with some more: PAY BACK YOUR INVESTMENT FIRST! You may or may not know that I was a bit laxidaisical when I began in Premier. I "wanted" to pay back my investment, but was satisfied with the minimum payment on my card. BIIIIIG NO NO! PAY BACK YOUR INVESTMENT BEFORE AAAAANYTHING ELSE!

3. I think this blog is gonna be SO MUCH FUN. :)

Love you girls... And WELCOME SHANNON!!!
Denise

    2. I started September 26, 2010, I did OK in the beginning. I haven't had a show since November. I've been working on changing that. I've gotten tons of ideas to do when I'm at a show. I've gotten ideas for different promotions, and contests, that I'm working on right now. I need to concentrate on making more phone calls. The only advice I have for you, is you will get out of your business what you put into it. If you want to make a certain amount of money, you need to work for it. I honestly have to say I don't spend as much time working on my business as I should be each week. I'm working on changing that too. The slow time right now is definitely something I wasn't expecting. But I'm positive I will turn this around. I'm working on focusing my attention on God, by putting Him first, and I know God is using this time to make me stronger an a person and as a Christian. I know this slow time will make me better in my business.

    3. Yes, I think this will work.

  2. Chris! That is so true and very good advise. I definitely agree and am glad you thought to pass that tidbit on to Shannon. I can speak from experience there too: you will get out what you put into the business. BUT! Here's the great part. There have been so many jewelers before you that someone has thought of just about everything! You'll get lots of great ideas from many people around you and definitely won't have to "re-invent the wheel"
